Shaun Stokes was a 1997 Jefferson graduate. In 1997, he was awarded first team all-state & Gatorade NJ pitcher of the year. He was drafted by the Seattle Mariners in 1997. He played for William Paterson for 3 yrs and the cape cod league for 2 summers. In 1998, Shaun led the cape league in saves. In 1999, he was awarded the cape league all-star. Shaun was drafted in the 7th round by the St. Louis Cardinals in 2000.
Shaun has coached Babe Ruth baseball in Jefferson for 4 yrs 2006-2010 and has also coached midget football for 5 yrs 2006-2011. He has taken his extensive baseball experience and knowledge and brought it over to female athletes in the softball world through coaching Sparta softball for the last 5 yrs and counting. Last year he was inducted into the Sussex County Sports Hall of Fame.
