Bill has been involved in the game of Fast Pitch Softball, since the late 1970’s, having played and pitched for the Raybestos Men’s Softball Club Team out of Connecticut, from 1974 thru 1980. Bill learned the art of softball pitching from the legendary John Stratton, who is the current Head Softball Coach for the Connecticut Brakettes (formally the Raybestos Brakettes), and the late Tony “Zimbo” Zimbalatti, who pitched for the Raybestos Men’s Softball Club Team from 1963 thru 1974, as well as learning from the likes of Bertha Ragan Tickey and Joan Joyce of the Raybestos Brakettes Women’s Program. After leaving his playing days behind, Bill began his coaching career, at the High School Varsity Level in 1980, at Port Chester High School in New York, where he spent 12 years there, capturing 2 – New York State Public High School Championships along the way. In 1993, Bill left the High School Ranks to become the Associate Head Softball Coach at Fordham University, at the NCAA Division I Level, where he was responsible for the Pitchers and Catchers. Bill left Fordham University after the conclusion of the 1997 season.
